Jabberwocky for SATB Chorus, a cappella

PROGRAM NOTES I sang in my high school's madrigal choir, so when I began composing, it was a natural to write music for my friends who could sing a cappella tightly and in tune. Perhaps with thanks to one of the English teachers, I chose the Jabberwocky poem for the sung text - perhaps for this shy teenager to write vocal music without actual saying anything. I'm fortunate to have had a choral director and classmates who were excited to be part of Jabberwocky, and I still like the piece. In fact, I've re-used little fragments of it in instrumental works over the years.
